Designer Inspiration: NEW Hues of Happiness DSP

Hi everyone! I don’t know about you, but I am so excited for all of the new products that are coming available on May 3rd! I thought that I would give you guys a sneak peek into our designing process and see how we are using this new Designer Series Paper. I wanted this beautiful DSP to be the front and center of this card, and decided to try a new technique to really show this off.

To do so, I stacked 4 pieces of DSP together and cut into sections that I was able to mix and match, giving me 4 easy cards! As always, be creative and enjoy creating some fun new designs!

You can find the tutorial attached below; feel free to print and share.

Thanks for visiting! Esther

EASY EASTER BASKET PICTURE TUTORIAL - Stampin' Up supplies

Need an Easter Basket in a quick hurry! Stop here for a simple cute basket to create!

Following is a tutorial for an easy to make basket….for any occasion! Fill it with goodies….it’s really big enough to hold candy or a little bottle of lotion, fingernail polish, gum, whatever you come up with at the dollar store.

You will begin with an 8 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of card stock and score it at 2 1/2” from the edge on each side all the way down the 8 1/2” side.

Below is a picture of your score and cut lines. Also, below that is a tutorial you can click the button and then print off.

TIP: When adhering the sides together to (those 3 strips on each side you are cutting) ALTERNATE ATTACHING LEFT ONE, THEN RIGHT ONE.

Also, it is easiest to adhere the 1/2” fold down first as shown.

For this basket, I have used the Flowering Fields Bundle #157678 and Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper #157670. ( Will be retiring soon). Items are listed below. Purchase is appreciated. But know, you can use this template for a basket for any occasion! Maybe a cute idea for a bridal shower or baby shower to include a small gift and a gift card tucked in the basket.

Hope you enjoy! Another Easter tutorial coming up….get some Hershey Bars and find your oval punches or dies and we’ll make some really CUTE Hershey Bar Covered bunnies!

Easter Friends Card Tutorial

Here’s a simple but happy fun card to make and share this Easter! You probably have most supplies on hand. I encourage you to spend a little time this week, relax and make a couple of cards to give….I’m sure you’ll brighten someone’s day!

Tip: For this image of the duck or chick or bunny, use a similar color to stamp the image in. They are such beautiful heartwarming images but when you use a black ink….it detracts from the sweetness of the drawn image.

My suggestion is to stamp this duck image in Bumblebee and then carefully use your WaterPainter and watercolor the duck with Bumblebee ink from the lid of your ink pad.

Or using Blending brushes are a good option too.

2nd Tip: make sure the eyes pop…either by a tiny bit of Soft Suede ink for the duck and chick or less color for the bunny

Animals come alive when you see their eyes!

Item #’s are listed on the Easter Friends card tutorial and my be purchased from the shopping button above. Thank you!

Scrapbooking is this Saturday, April 16th.

I have a few more cards from our team meeting to show you. I had asked the ladies to make cards from their most favorite sets out of our retiring annual catalog. And here are 2 more of those cards….

You may wonder how Blair made the Sunflower card….she used a masking technique so that the sunflowers and sentiment are all on the same piece of card stock. By tearing sticky notes and placing them on a piece of 3” x 5 1/2” of Basic White card stock she was able to “mask” or keep the Basic White card stock from being stamped on when she stamped the sunflowers and color them and the background in. Then she took the sticky notes off and stamped the sentiment. Blair has an true artist flair of getting the coloring just perfect!

It’s totally a fun thing to learn new ways and ideas to use your stamps and have that close fellowship with friends each month…..I invite you to join one of my clubs for community!

I love seeing the cards that you all make! It totally feeds my eyes and gives me ideas too! Below, there is a pop up card I made with Flowering Tulips bundle from Annette’s tutorial at team meeting. How to put together Tulip Dies....Stampin' Up

One thing that really impressed me with the Tulip Dies was the variety of looks this set has for tulips! There are 8 dies that can be put together in various ways for an assortment of flowers. No 2 flowers look alike in nature, and these dies make an array of different looking tulip flowers.

I also appreciate that I can send all 8 dies through the die cutting machine at one time fo make 4 different flowers…..saves time and effort going through the die cutting machine just once!

Watch my video to see how easy it is to put together these tulip flowers. You’ll be making your versions of these welcome springtime flowers! Be sure to like and share my video if you find it helpful :)

  • Flowering Tulips Bundle #157678 $52

  • Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper #157670 $11.50

  • New Horizons 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper #157768 $11.50

During the month of March, Stampin’ Up has 20 savings on the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine! If you have been waiting for a SALE…..it’s here! Most dies - not all - but most will fit in the mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It’s so nice to have sitting right beside you, without taking up too much space or weight if you carry with you.

Check out the other bundles Stampin’ Up has put on sale along with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Getting excited for a new catalog? It may be coming fast, but it’s always fun to see and play with NEW products! What fun creations we can make!!!
