NEW Scrapbook products/Sr. Center card class and more

Take Two….I just deleted accidentally the almost finished post for today! Scream! Ok, for not posting 3 weeks let me catch you up with the Boyle home.

First off….the September to December mini catalog is another good one! I love so many of the sets in it! I have mailed a lot of catalogs out and am bringing them to club, but if you are missing a catalog….please reach out to me! I’ll gte one in the mail to you.

So to catch you up to date…my huband, Scott’s dad passed away 3 weeks ago. Scott went up to Indianapolis for a few days and then came back home on the day we were scheduled to go to Wilmington for a fishing trip that was in lieu of the Stampin’ Up incentive trip. Scott and you youngest son, Daniel ended up staying home but Elizabeth and Nate and Joshua, Karla, and Allie and I all had a great time. I’ll post pictures below as I didn’t get them posted to Facebook as we were a little off balance then.

You’ll see Nate had a fight with a shark but won and landed it…..unfortunately, it was not a keeper. Josh, one of my son, Joshua’s friends stepped in and went with us…caught the most fish! You see him in the background of my keeper fish. Our captain lost his chair during the trip too…it landed in the boat. How humbling!

I cam back home Sunday and Scott, Daniel, and I drove to Indianapolis on Monday. All of our other children/grandchildren made the trip also. It was a beautiful celebration of life service. As the officiating pastor said….Don spoke his own funeral. He had such an impact for good at his work and his love for the Lord.

Back home we have been in high gear working to prepare for Creative Escape! So pack your cowboy boots and hats! We’re off to a fun crafty adventure soon!

I invite you to this months Sr. Center card class! It’s Wednesday, Sept. 18th at 2 PM. Please RSVP so I have cardstock prepared for you. Cost is $12 for the 4 cards.

Making it simple to join the love of scrapbooking, Stampin’ Up has added to it’s line of products … scrapbook kits….with Designer Series Paper, 12 x 12 card stock, and euphoria all packaged together. There are co-ordinating stamp sets especially made to support your scrapbook crafting. Click on the link below to pull up the complete catalog brochure.

Also, just a note…..due to all the changes coming up on Stampin’ Up web site, I will be sending an invite to each of you, my customers to accept. This will aid in keeping your records under me as your demonstrator. Thanks to each one of you! I’m looking forward to crafting with you!

Background Painting with Pearlized Enamel Effects

I have had sooooo much fun with Pearlized Enamel Effects over the past few years! There are numberless ways of using Enamel Effects! Stampin’ Up has 2 different packages:

  • Pearlized Enamel Effects containes: White, Black, and Real Red #156310

  • Metallic Enamel Effects contains: Copper, Gold, and Silver #161610

So what are some of the ways you can use Enamel Effects?

  • One of the primary ways is to make a pearl dot on your finished card. I especially like doing this on a stamped image. I love to see the White Enamel Effects absorb the ink color as the Enamel Effects dries.

  • You can dilute with water or rubbing alcohol and make splatter dots - this is specially nice using the Metallic Enamel

  • You can thin down the colors and actually paint using Enamel Effects - this is beautiful with the Black. When finished it has a silver shimmer

  • It is beautiful to smear all over a dry embossed as a background

  • Use it to “paint” in black coal boats or a Real Red Santa hat! Or beautiful flowers. I have “painted” with a tooth pick or a disposable brush.

  • Use the Metallic Enamel (gold) as highlights on an image

  • And in this sample below, we used a pallete knife to pull the Reinker colored Enamel Effects to paint a fall background scene.

Pearlized Enamel Effects

This picture is really close up so you can see the pallets knife marks to spread the Pearlized Enamel Effects.

The butterfly has been painted on top of Crushed Curry Card stock with Cajun Craze ink for an overall rich bronze colored butterfly.

It is so unique and fun to play with! One word of warning….make sure you clean IMMEDIATELY - it will dry with a cloud if you use an acrylic block and it drys HARD!!! It WILL NOT be coming off your projects.

DRYING TIME; That really is the 6 million dollar question! Generally, a thin coat drys pretty fast 10-15 min. and a peal dot will dry best completely overnight! I usually put mine pearl dot on last thing before bed….so I don’t get impatient and touch it before it’s completely dry and avoid a finger print on my pearl.

Intensify using Adhesive Sheets to lift your sentiments off the page! Look on page 85 in your 2024-2025 Annual Catalog….hiding in the bottom right corner and these most wonderful dies called….WANTED TO SAY #161594.

Foam Adhesive Sheets #152815 give lift, emphasis, attention, and strength to your card - in this case the sentiment that is die cut!

  • take off one side of the Foam Adhesive Sheet’s waxed paper and adhere a piece of card stock - here we used Basic Black

  • die cut placing the die with cutting side down to card stock

  • run through die cutting machine

  • pull off die cut word off waxed paper backing and place on your card

  • There is no limit on quantity

  • Sale begins August 6th to end of month

For this reason, I will be securing a host code for each club and if you would like to order and have a direct ship to you on the sale DSP, please let me know and I will be glad to help/get you the host code. Shipping on orders less than $79 are a flat $7.95.

Bring on the sample cards! The first is a gift each on the attending team members receive. It is created from Season of Green and Gold DSP 12 x 12 along with products from the Suite Collection of Season of Green and Gold.

Elizabeth designed the cute little gift bag with a velcro closure and used one of the Greeting of the Season dies to make the tab for closure. The card is a double gate fold….look close in the pictures to follow to see the front panel tucked under the heart leaves and the back panel tucked under the front panel.

Looks like dry embossing on this card…..but it’s not. Well, almost, we did use an embossing folder on the card base, but the images on the hello part are die cuts! We simply ran 3 dies from Thought Wishes Die set through the die cutting machine 2 times and placed them on the card stock. This made easy if you use an adhesive sheet on the Basic White card stock before you run through the die cutting machine.

Here is another fun Decorative Mask….great tree for masculine cards! There is also an evergreen tree in the set.

I love how the colors turned out for this card….we used Peach Pie and Cajun Craze for the foliage and Copper Clay for the stamped tree outline.

More to come next week! When we have the next card buffet, both the Frosted Forest and Thoughtful Wishes cards will be available to make.

More to come next week! Enjoy creating this week! Thanks for visiting! Below is a picture of our booth at the CKC - Greenville this past weekend. I am excited to meet new faces and welcome them to stamp with us!

Stampin' Up Country Woods Designer Series Paper

This Designer Series Paper is soooo versatile! I love how it looks on this scrapbook spread! And you could put almost any everyday life pictures on these pages!

The lighting appears a little funky in my photography….Sorry! I am including a picture of each page individually also for you to see.

If you like being creative….please join us next month when I hold scrapbooking class! We make two 2-page layouts each month. It is so rewarding to have pages to drop your pictures in. You can then frame them or just add to a book and place on the coffee table. Guaranteed for smiles from all who see it!

This spread was made using Stampin’ Up Country Woods Designer Series Paper- definitely a MUST have! and Country Flowers Stamp and Die bundle.

Our other July spread uses Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper and Irresistible Blooms Stamp and Die Bundle. It’s a fun puzzle to put together little 2 inch squares and triangles…..but it is so intriguing to look at!

Let’s see you get creative! I’m attaching a picture tutorial with tips on putting the following page together as a Christmas picture matte. It uses the NEW BEAUTIFUL Season of Green and Gold suite from Stampin’ Up. Click on the picture and see all the beautiful Designer Series Paper and Vellum! I love how the dies cut out the stamps, DSP and vellum that is in this suite.

I’m excited to use this paper! It makes Christmas card making easy and soooo beautiful and festive with the bit of gold foil and printed vellum!

I’ll be using this paper for a class at the Creative Keepsakes Convention Greenville August 2 and 3rd. I hope you can join me then! Below is a link for the class list. I’ll be teaching 3 different classes both Friday and Saturday: Spotlight on Backgrounds, Pockets and Posies Scrapbook Spread, and Season of Fun Folds (Christmas cards)
