Beautiful Fall Leaves in the mountains.....

For the past 10 days I’ve been with Scott….who has been painting the fall leaves (see his Facebook page to see some of his studies he’s done plein air (outside). I’ve been cutting card stock for this coming Saturday’s Christmas Stampin’ Blitz and cooking. We’ve had some of our family in so you get pictures of us this week.

Next week you will get to see the cards we made at Christmas Stampin’ Blitz. Make plans for February 2023 for a Birthday Stampin’ Blitz!

Christmas scrapbook layout using Santa’s Express DSP

Lately I’ve been using Alphabest Bundle #158886 on page 151 in Stampin’ Up annual catalog for titles on my scrapbook layouts. It works well! I end up stamping the outline first, punching out and then stamping the letters inside the outline. They all fit so nicely together. This is also a good size for a word or two on your cards.

Another great pattern paper for Christmas cards and scrapbook layouts is Boughs of Holly 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! It is so elegant! And vibrant! Use item # 159600 to order your package today!

For this elegant page, I also used Fabulous Frames Die set. Item # 159163 in the Annual Catalog pg. 171. I really like the added touch these shapes bring die cut from Distressed Gold Paper item #159237 pg 139 from the Annual Catalog. Distressed Gold Paper is currently out of stock but should be in around November 7th.

The next picture is of one of my friends cards….she made 29 and showing in the picture are 26…..incredible job! She made most a little different variation. I am so impressed when she sends me all her creations!

Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper layouts

Make those special memories last forever with pictures……here are 2 fall layouts for special moments with your loved ones!

Hello Harvest Bundle Stampin’ Up #159644

I love the pumpkins in this set! And even more coloring them in with Stampin’ Up new Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics White! Pearlized Enamel Effects makes pearl looking dots that are 3D on your projects but it can also have reinkers added to color it and then used to paint or color in the pumpkins like I did above.

Love love love how it looks! It has just a wee bit of pearlized sheen to the color.

Here, I used reinkers: Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, and Gray Granite. Just a drop of reinker in a little squeeze of White Pearlized Enamel Effects is needed and paint on with a drop of water and Water Color Painters. Depending on the thickness and amount of Pearlized Enamel will determine how long it will take to dry….just the enamel says to allow 1 to 3 hours to dry. Mixing with water and reinker and painting usually doesn’t take that long..

  • leaves were stamped with following inks: Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry

  • 1/2 inch strips by 6 inches were woven in basket weave fashion to make a backdrop for pumpkins on the left side

  • Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper #159633 was used to stamp sentiment on and die cut with Hello Harvest bundle dies

  • Before pumpkins were painted with the tinted Pearlized Enamel Effects, they were stamped with Basic White ink and Basic White Embossing Powder used


Our second scrapbook layout also used Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. The beautiful dahlia flowers were cut around and placed on Cajun Craze 12 x 12 card stock and then butterflies were stamped and embossed with White Basic Embossing Powder and also colored in using the White Pearlized Enamel Effects colored with reinkers and painted on to butterflies.

This month…..card making will look just a bit different for our normal Sr. Center class AND I was to invite all my ladies that venture out for a card buffet to come this Thursday to the Dallas Sr. Center for a card buffet.

I will have the following 10 cards available for you to make your choice of cards and how many of each one you make. Only limit is amount of card stock that is currently cut for you. I will be at the Sr. Center from 1-4pm Thursday, October 20th. Hope you can attend!

Back to the 80's Creative Escape recap

Life is a fun adventure sometimes! And this past weekend was in that category. Relive our weekend of Creative Escape back to the 80’s theme at Douglas Lake with the video below.

 
 

We were in a large cabin….lots of space to craft 40 cards and 20 page scrapbook layout. Next week I’ll post more of the cards and some of the scrapbook spreads but for now, enjoy the video Elizabeth put together of our weekend.

We crafted, played ‘The Cut”, had a burger/chocolate bomb 80’s party by the fire pit, laughed, talked, helped each out and most of us are ready to do it again next year! We’ll rest up a bit first! LOL

Keep watching! I hope to be moving a little faster in the coming days, but I at least wanted you to be able to block off your calendars for a November 5th Christmas Card Stampin’ Blitz!!!

  • Saturday, November 5th 2022 8am to 8pm

  • We’ll be making 20 Christmas cards….2 of 10 different styles. I plan to use the 5 Christmas stamp sets from Creative Escape and add 5 more to make up the 10 different styles of cards

  • Will be held at the Dallas Sr. Center and Vikki our massage therapist will be there in the afternoon again.

  • Cost will be coming - it will be a little more than last year, but I want to price out my cards since I haven’t done that in quite a few years. I will also have a confirmation sheet to fill out. Plan to make a $50 deposit please.

  • Texture Chic DSP designs itself so well to tearing so that it looks like white cap waves in the ocean. I put a torn piece of Crumb Cake CS inbetween to look like sand

  • Notice Texture Chic DSP lends itself to stamping shells, starfish, sand texture and crabs right on top to add to the depth of texture and what is going on in the foreground to bring you into the pages.

  • These pages were designed with visiting a museum in mind but it really makes me think of following any path that meanders and finds all kinds of interesting things to look at.
